Stoneham School Committee unanimously approves four student handbooks, flags outdated college deadlines. Meeting virtually, members Cory Mashburn, Jaime Wallace, Melanie Fiore, JR Fogarty and Megan Samborski voted 5-0 four separate times to approve handbooks for the early learning center, elementary schools, middle school and high school. Wallace said the high school handbook's college timeline, unchanged in years, listed an October senior parent night and a December financial aid night despite November 1 early-decision deadlines and FAFSA opening October 1, calling it "way too late." Central office administrator Dr.
DeFrancisco said high school principal Dr. Burnham would revise the calendar before it reaches families. Fogarty separately asked whether homecoming should get the same outside-guest exception as prom, while Melanie Fiore warned some handbooks still cite policy numbers made obsolete by the district's recent policy manual rewrite.
