STONEHAM — September 15, 2025 — Stoneham School Building Committee clears more than $3.6 million in final project costs ahead of September 27 dedication. At its September 15 meeting, the committee unanimously approved a revised warrant article totaling $3,493,083.45 that included Consigli Construction's invoice number 38 for $3,376,974.34, reduced by $50,491.59 in liquidated damages, along with multiple Perkins and Will design amendments and SMMA closeout invoices. Change order number 48, covering three change requests totaling $46,296.68, also passed unanimously, as did Perkins and Will Amendment 43 for $6,490 in post-substantial-completion services. The committee approved a $24,176 signage contract with Signverse for campus-wide directional and emergency-identification signs, and voted — with the Chair casting the lone dissenting vote — to authorize up to $35,000 for landscaping work on two abutting properties to screen athletic field lights from neighboring homes on Franklin Street. Finance Working Group representative Doug Gove recommended approval of every financial item. With all pending costs accounted for, the project retains a remaining balance of $1,420,062.
