Stoneham Soccer, Golf Teams Report Wins to School Committee

STONEHAM --

HIGH SCHOOL -- Student representatives Maggie and Jayden told the School Committee on Oct. 8 that Stoneham's girls soccer team beat Watertown last week, and the golf team has won its last two matches. The football team was scheduled to play at Wilmington the following night, Oct. 9. The representatives also reported that the school's Unified Basketball team started its season at home against Wakefield last week, with members of several other Stoneham sports teams, including cheerleaders, turning out to support the players. A School Committee member who attended the Unified Basketball opener called it "a really nice school spirit event," noting that volleyball and cross country athletes were among those cheering from the stands.
