Stoneham Boards Unanimously Appoint Ellen McBride to Planning Board
STONEHAM — April 22, 2025 — Stoneham's Select Board and Planning Board jointly appointed Ellen McBride as an associate member of the Planning Board at their April 22 joint session. McBride, a 35-year Stoneham resident who served as co-chair of the Conservation Commission for nearly 18 years and currently sits on the Zoning Bylaw Review Committee, was chosen unanimously by both bodies — 4-0 by the Planning Board and 5-0 by the Select Board — over commercial real estate broker Ernest Ronka and AIG attorney Stephen Levy. Select Board member Ramey said his vote was for McBride because "she has some really deep roots and she understands our municipality and our quirks." The Select Board also approved a rescheduled one-day liquor license for Zoo New England for April 26, confirmed Adam Jacobs to the School Building Committee, and appointed Kevin McLaughlin and R. Michael Dufour as full members and Bill Sullivan as an associate member of the Board of Appeals, leaving one associate seat on that board still vacant.
