Young Company Students Preview Summer Festival Shows at Free Stoneham Concert

STONEHAM — July 24, 2025 — Greater Boston Stage Company's Young Company and folk artist Alistair Moock headlined a free outdoor summer concert in Stoneham on July 24, part of the Stoneham Chamber of Commerce's Summer Concert Series. Managing Director Heather Mell emceed the event, telling the crowd the Young Company this summer enrolls more than 90 students from more than 22 towns across the greater Boston area. Three student groups performed preview material from their upcoming Summer Festival productions — Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Bye Bye Birdie, and Legally Blonde — which run August 7 through August 10 on the company's main stage. Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Moock, a local resident, followed with a set mixing children's songs, folk standards, and civil rights-era material including "This Land Is Your Land" and "If I Had a Hammer," accompanied by guitarist Anand Nyack. The event was underwritten by platinum sponsors Stoneham Bank, Stoneham Ford, Salem Five, Eastern Bank, and the Arbors at Stoneham, with additional gold, silver, and bronze sponsors enabling free admission.
