Stoneham Seeks Resident Input On New Trash Contract

STONEHAM — Stoneham's Trash & Recycling Committee is asking residents to complete a brief survey to help the town administrator shape a new hauling contract, since the town's current agreement with Casella is set to expire next year.

TOWN HALL

The Trash & Recycling Committee wants to hear from residents before the town heads into negotiations. With the Casella contract up in 2027, the committee says the survey will help officials understand what the community wants and needs as they seek a new trash and recycling vendor.

The town also posted updated hours for the Stevens Street Recycling Center, which will run through Nov. 30, 2026, giving residents a longer window to plan drop-offs.

In-person early voting for the state primary got underway Saturday, Aug. 22, running 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Town Clerk's Office, with voting continuing during regular Town Hall hours Aug. 24 through Aug. 28.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

Family Festival Faith & Fun is set for Saturday, Aug. 22, one of the highlighted events on the Stoneham community calendar this weekend, per Patch's event listings.
