Stoneham Schools Fill Two More Seats In Third Bus Lottery
STONEHAM — With the new school year set to begin, Stoneham Public Schools conducted a third transportation lottery on August 26 to fill two newly available seats, continuing a process that has run through the summer as families finalize their fall plans.

Downtown Stoneham's road and infrastructure work, which began Monday, July 6, continues to affect traffic and access in the town center, according to an update posted to the town's website. The Stevens Street Recycling Center's published hours remain in effect through November 30, 2026, and the Trash & Recycling Committee's survey on residents' hauling needs remains open as the town's contract with Casella nears its 2027 expiration, both matters covered previously by this desk.

Stoneham Public Schools conducted a third transportation lottery on August 26 after two additional bus seats became available, following a second lottery held the previous day that filled four seats. The district said the same process will repeat if more seats open up.
