Stoneham School Building Committee approves $3.9 million in invoices and change orders

STONEHAM — May 19, 2025 — Stoneham School Building Committee approved nearly $3.9 million in invoices and change orders at its May 19 meeting and heard that the stadium building is tracking four days past the Aug. 15 fall sports deadline. The Finance Working Group, represented by Doug Gove, recommended approval of a net warrant article of $3,507,172.17 anchored by Consigli Construction's Invoice No. 34. A $38,925.70 amendment for a whole-building blower door air-leakage test, subcontracted to Intertech through Universal Testing Services, was approved unanimously for a June 23 test date. Perkins and Will's Amendment No. 39, covering $52,288 in post-substantial-completion construction administration, passed 10 to 1, with member Jean voting no after David Boyce urged the committee to form a working group to monetize outstanding deficiencies and "close the job out" rather than ratify open-ended architectural hours month to month. The project's contingency reserve stands at $1,333,809; football field turf installation begins June 2 with completion projected around July 4.
