Stoneham High School Graduates First Class From New Building at Ceremony

STONEHAM — May 30, 2025 — Stoneham High School graduated its first class from its newly constructed building Friday night, marking a dual milestone in the town's tricentennial year. Superintendent David Youngberg told the roughly 150 graduates of the Class of 2025 that they were "pioneers" who transformed "brand-new hallways and state-of-the-art classrooms" into a living school community, and challenged them to become "hippies" — his acronym for "highly intelligent people pursuing infinite enlightenment." Class President Gina Bonavita delivered the presidential address, urging classmates to stop people-pleasing and "climb the mountains so that you can see the world, not so that the world can see you." Valedictorian Daniel Myrick, who received a McDonnell Medal along with salutatorian Abigail Myrick, warned graduates not to be "sedated by a false sense of repetition." Angela Billings was named Educator of the Year by a vote of the senior class, presented by social chairs Ariella Gerji, Vivian Schofield, and Logan Tran.
