Stoneham High Inducts 11th Hall of Fame Class With Nine Athletes and a Coach
STONEHAM — May 3, 2025 — Stoneham High School inducted its 11th Athletic Hall of Fame class Saturday, honoring nine former athletes, a longtime coach, three championship gymnastics teams, and a 42-year custodian. Athletic Director David Pignone, in his 18th year, and emcee Bernie Corbett, a fixture at all 11 ceremonies since 2003, presided over an evening that spanned the classes of 1964 through 2008. Posthumous inductees included Tom Hunt, class of 1974, a five-time Middlesex League champion in three sports whom the committee acknowledged had been missed for roughly 20 years, and gymnastics coach Cynthia Carboni Hart, who died in January 2021 and led four state championship teams during 20 seasons. Other inductees included track standout Christina Isacupo Horn, class of 2008, who broke 11 school records and earned a full scholarship to Northeastern University, and custodian Charlie Freeman, honored as a Friend of SHS for 42 years of service described as "a heart of gold." The ceremony coincided with Stoneham's 300th anniversary as a town.
