Stoneham Delegation Backs New Foster Child Welfare Law

STONEHAM — Stoneham's state delegation helped pass a new law creating a Foster Child Bill of Rights and adding oversight to the state's child welfare system, according to a Stoneham Patch report from Sen. Jason Lewis's office. Closer to home, Town Hall posted updated hours for the Stevens Street Recycling Center, and Stoneham Public Schools ran a third bus lottery drawing to open two more seats.

TOWN HALL Stevens Street Recycling Center has posted updated operating hours that will remain in effect through Nov. 30, according to a notice on the town's website.

SCHOOLS Stoneham Public Schools ran a third transportation lottery drawing on Aug. 26 after two more bus seats opened up, the district said, a day after a second drawing filled four earlier vacancies. The district said another lottery will be held if additional seats become available.
