Pediatric Healthcare Associates Wins 27th Stoneham Trivia Bee in Historic Tiebreaker
STONEHAM — March 22, 2024 — Pediatric Healthcare Associates won the 27th annual Stoneham Business Community Education Foundation Trivia Bee on March 22, claiming the title in what organizers called the first sudden-death tiebreaker in the event's history. Both Pediatric Healthcare Associates and the Chamber Bees finished regulation play at 38 points apiece, forcing a 10-question lightning round that the Pediatric Healthcare Associates team won; the Stoneham TV Channel Surfers placed third with 37 points. Stoneham Public Schools Superintendent Dave Youngberg, serving as trivia master for the second consecutive year, guided competitors through three rounds covering science, pop culture, local history, and geography, with bonus questions worth five points each on topics including the Pearl Harbor attack date and the translation of the Hogwarts school motto. Proceeds from the event's raffles and silent auction support local programs including South School, the Stoneham Historical Society, the Boys and Girls Club, and the Rad Defense youth initiative.
