Juliette Fay Reads From New Recovery Novel at Stoneham Public Library

STONEHAM — June 2, 2022 — Novelist Juliette Fay discussed her latest book and writing craft at the Stoneham Public Library on June 2, 2022. Fay presented "Catch Us When We Fall," a novel about a woman navigating early sobriety after her partner dies of alcohol poisoning, with research grounded in open Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and interviews with a longtime Fenway Park usher and an anonymous Red Sox team flight attendant. Library Director Nicole Langley hosted the small audience gathering as part of a spring author series. Fay, whose father has been in recovery for more than 30 years, said the book's most meaningful early review came from a bookstore worker in recovery who emailed to say, "You were really compassionate." She also announced that her next novel, "The Half of It," following a 59-year-old woman reckoning with a high-school pivotal moment, is complete and expected in early 2023.
